Background
S&N is an international brand-driven, beer-led drinks business with positions in 15 countries in Europe and Asia and exports to more than 60 countries around the world.
Requirement
On UniTech advice S&N’s Marketing Division agreed to carry out an exercise to rationalise the disparate marketing data they held and provide the correct tools for handling data in e-marketing campaigns.
UniTech carried out a study and agreed the following requirements:
- A single location to store subscriber data.
- A simplified way of setting up and managing e-mail campaigns.
- A reduction in the amount of time spent running campaigns.
- To provide a secure location for holding subscriber data.
- To provide a mechanism for e-mail recipients to unsubscribe.
- To guide S&N on how to meet EU laws regarding data collection and storage.
Solution
UniTech provided the following tools to manage subscribers and e-marketing campaigns:
- A secure SQL 2000 database designed to hold subscriber and marketing data.
- A web front end to set up e-marketing campaigns.
- A mailing engine designed for large quantities of e-mails.
- A web front end to unsubscribe via a link automatically built into emails.
- Reporting tools to show success rates for mailings.
